How do I use an SD card with my tablet?
Insert your microSD card
- Open the microSD Card Slot tray located on the right side of the device.
- Insert your microSD card in the slot, with the gold pins facing down.
Copy files to your microSD card
At this time the XOOM Family Edition does not support direct drag and drop of files to the SD card from the PC.
It is recommended that you use an SD card reader to transfer files to your card, and then reinsert it back into your device.
Explore and open files
In order to explore or open files on your SD card you will need a file manager application. While we do not endorse or guarantee these solutions, or provide support for them, some owners have reported success using a 3rd party Android Application like Astro file manager, ES File Explorer or File Explorer HD. You can search the Android Market for 3rd party applications that are available that will enable you to view, open and explore files from your device.
Using any of the above suggested application, go to /mnt/sdcard2 to open or view content from your microSD card.
Note: You cannot create folders using these file manager applications. Any SD card folders will need to be created on the computer.
View total and available space
To view total and available space, go to Settings > Storage > SD Card
Remove the microSD card
- Go to settings > Storage > Unmount SD card > Ok
- Open the microSD Card Slot tray located on the right side of the device.
- Press down on the microSD card and remove.
