Motorola Assist makes use of a number of sensors on the phone to figure out if you’re driving. Specifically, we look at accelerometer and location data to determine if you’re driving. Motorola Assist doesn't know if you’re the driver or a passenger and may sometimes think you’re driving when you're on a bus, train or riding a bike. It may also take Motorola Assist up to a couple minutes to figure out that you’re driving after you have started.
Important: Location Access needs to be enabled for Driving to work correctly. Touch Apps > Settings > Location Access > turn Access to my location to ON.
To use Motorola Assist Driving, touch Apps > Assist > Driving:

Motorola Assist looks at your calendar to figure out if you are in a meeting. Motorola Assist follows a complex set of rules to filter out things on your calendar that may not actually be a meeting (e.g. birthdays, reminders, etc). We consider the user to be in a meeting if the calendar event:
- is from a calendar visible on device
- is from a calendar for which you are the owner
- has been accepted
- is not deleted
- is not cancelled
- is not all day (all day event box checked) or duration < 24
- meetings where you’re marked as “Available” will not trigger meeting mode
To customize your auto-reply in meeting mode, touch Apps > Assist > Meeting> Auto Reply > Edit > Enter your reply > OK.
