No Connectivity on USB 3.0 Ports (MotoCast)

I have connected my MOTOACTV or other device to my desktop and nothing happens.  What can I do to fix this?

Some vendor’s USB 3.0 drivers do not step-down to handle USB 2.0 devices.  You may experience connectivity issues (e.g. device not detected) in this case.  If you suspect this condition, try connecting your device to a USB 2.0 port.
