My contacts are missing, and the prompt and volume settings change every time I start up my car, why? 

If you turn off your car and you do not see the Motorola logo, the power connections to the TK30 are not correct.  To fix this, you need to swap the ignition and battery wires that power your kit (red and yellow wires with fuse holders) - there are in-line connectors in the harness that enable this interchangeability.  To ensure proper operation of the TK30, the Battery (yellow) line into the Vehicle Integration kit should have permanent battery power, while the Ignition (red) line into the Vehicle Integration kit should turn on and off with the vehicle accessory/ignition control.
