Moto G 3rd Generation - Release Notes
We are excited to announce a new software update for Moto G (3rd Gen.) by Motorola.
This update brings important security and stability improvements to your phone.

This update includes changes including the following:
|Stagefright Security Vulnerability||
Closes a potential security vulnerability that involves the mechanisms used to retrieve a message sent via the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).
|Night Mode (Camera)||Adds the night mode option to the Motorola Camera application where necessary (some phones in some regions did not have it enabled in the initial production software). This mode allows you to take a picture in very low light with less risk of motion-induced blur (at a reduced 5MP image size).|
|Stability Improvements||Includes changes that fix bugs and improve the stability of your phone.|
For a successful installation, we recommend installing this update when the battery in your phone is at least 50% charged and you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
If you have received a notification message for this update:
- Select "Yes, I’m in".
- After the software is downloaded, select the prompt to install it.
- After the software is installed, your phone will restart automatically.
- Your phone is now updated.
If you have not received a notification message for this update, follow the steps below to manually update your phone:
- Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
- Select "About phone".
- Select "System updates".
- Follow the steps above to download and install the update.
