Update the software - Nexus 6

Nexus devices receive the latest version of Android directly from Google.  Visit the Nexus support article for assistance.

Software updates will be sent to your phone automatically over-the-air as they become available.

To check for available updates wirelessly/over-the-air:

1. Touch Apps  > Settings.
2. Touch About phone. The phone's software version is listed under Build number or System version.
3. Touch System updates.
   
   

If an update is available, follow the instructions on the phone to download and install it. Once updated, the phone will restart to complete the installation. Updates will not affect your contacts, applications, or data.
