Android Auto randomly disconnects

Some Make/Model vehicles have a lower signal level on USB data lines used to identify USB accessory types. In this case, the phone software may not be able to properly detect the signal over the noise level.

If you are having connectivity issues with Android Auto and your Motorola device try the following:

  • Try a short length USB Cable (~12 inches) which will avoid this low signal condition.

  • Try connecting the phone to Android Auto directly via Bluetooth, if available on vehicle.

  • Purchase a USB to Wireless Adaptor and then connect your phone to Android Auto via Bluetooth
(Note: Some adaptors in the market also come with a short USB cable)
