Change, add or reset Access Point Name (APN)
The APN defines the network path for all cellular data connectivity.
If you and your wireless service provider determine that you need to change the settings of your current access point name (APN) or to create a new one, you must obtain the APN and detailed settings from your provider.
To edit or add APN:
- Go to Settings to> Network & internet > Mobile network
- Touch Advanced > Access Point Names
- Touch an existing APN to edit it. or press +
- Enter the APN settings that you obtained from your wireless service provider by touching each setting that you need to edit.
If you are experiencing issues with messaging or data signal you can try resetting your APN.
To reset the APN to default values:
- Go to Settings > Network & internet
- Touch Mobile network (in some cases Cellular networks)
- Touch Advanced
- Touch Access Point Names
- Touch Menu
- Touch Reset to default
