Moto E (2nd Generation) - Release Notes

INTRODUCTION

We are excited to announce a new software update for Moto E (2nd Gen.) by Motorola. With this upgrade you get enhancements and bug fixes for all Moto E (2nd Gen.) devices. For more information on Motorola updates and repairs, visit us at www.motorola.com/mymotoe.

NOTE: You cannot downgrade to a previous software version after installing this update.

ENHANCEMENTS

This software update is for all Moto E (2nd Gen.) users. After installing the software update you will have enhancements that include:

Boot up Fixes an issue that could result in the device being stuck on the boot logo during power up; this requires a power cycle to clear it.
SD Card Prevents a scenario in which the device may not properly mount a micro SD card.
Touch Inputs Fixes an issue that could cause touch inputs to be ignored when a rare combination of events occur.



INSTRUCTIONS

For a successful installation, we recommend installing this update when the battery in your phone is at least 50% charged and you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
If you have received a notification message for this update:

  1. Select "Download".
  2. After the software is downloaded, select "Install now".
  3. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
  4. Your phone is now updated with 22.36.1

If you have not received a notification message for this update, follow the steps below to manually update your phone:

  1. Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
  2. Select "About phone".
  3. Select "System updates".
  4. Select "Download". After the software is downloaded, select "Install".   
  5. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
  6. Your phone is now updated to 22.36.1
