How do I use Cross Share?

When you’re signed in to Cross Share with your Lenovo ID on phones and supported Lenovo Windows 10 PCs, you can:

• Use one location to access pictures, videos, and audio files on connected devices
• Back up media files automatically and securely from phone to PC
• Send and receive text messages on your PC

To use Cross Share:

1. Connect your devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
   
   Note: If connected to a corporate or public wireless LAN, device pairing may fail due to network constraints. Use network connections without special constraints, including regular home network connections.
   
2. On both devices, open  Cross Share.
   
3. Follow onscreen instructions to sign in with the same Lenovo ID and pair your devices.

Connect devices

You can pair your phone with a PC or another phone. Once paired, the devices automatically connect when on the same Wi-Fi network.

Be sure that:

• Both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network
• You are signed in to Cross Share with the same Lenovo ID on both devices

Connect phone from PC

1. On the PC, open Lenovo Vantage and click Cross Share.
2. Click My Moto.
3. Select the phone to connect and click Confirm.
4. On the phone, look for the pairing notification and touch CONNECT.

To disconnect a phone:

1. On the PC, open Cross Share.
2. Click My Moto > Unpair.

Connect PC or phone from phone

1. On the phone, open Cross Share.
2. Touch  > Add device.
3. Touch the name of the device to connect and touch OK.
4. On the device to connect, look for the pairing notification and click ACCEPT.

To disconnect a PC or phone:

1. On the phone, open Cross Share.
2. Touch  > Device Management.
3. Next to the device to disconnect, touch

View media files across devices

Use Cross Share to view phone and PC media files from either device.

Required PC file location

For Cross Share to find PC media files, they must be located in the standard Windows libraries Music, Pictures, and Videos. Be sure to move PC media files you want to share into those libraries.

View from phone

1. On the phone, open Cross Share.
   
2. To change the view, touch , then:
   
   • To view media files on both devices, touch Cross View.
   • To view files on a particular device, touch the device name.
   • To view files by type, touch Pictures, Video, or Audio. Or, touch All to view all files by date.
   • To view files by folder, touch , then touch the folder name.

View from PC

1. On the PC, open Cross Share and click Cross View.
   
2. To change the view:
   
   • To view only files on the phone, click the phone name.
   • To view only files on the PC, click the PC name.
   • To view media files on both devices, click All.
   • To view contents by folder, click , then click the folder name.

Back up phone media to PC

Back up pictures, videos, and audio files from your phone to PC.

Turn it on

1. On the phone, open Cross Share.
2. Touch  > Backup and turn it on .
3. Select types of files to back up.
4. Touch  to save changes and begin the back up.

To disable Backup any time, turn it off .

Use it

Each time your connected devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, Cross Share automatically backs up new files of the types you selected, unless you turn Backup off.

To view files in the backup folder, on your PC:

• Open Cross Share, then click Auto Backup > Open Backup folder.
• Or, navigate to \Documents\Cross Share.

Send and receive SMS/MMS on PC

To send and receive text messages on your PC, first enable the feature on your phone. Messages sync on both devices.

Turn it on

1. On the phone, open Cross Share.
2. Touch  and turn Messages on .

To disable this feature any time, in the phone app, move the slider to off .

Use it

1. On the PC, open Cross Share.
   
2. Click Messages. Then:
   
   • To start a new message, click New message. In the To: field, enter a number or start typing a contact’s name to select one from a list.
   • To reply to an existing message, click it to open.
     
3. Type the message.
   
4. Optionally:
   
   • To add a picture, click .
   • To add an emoji, click .
     
5. Click  to send the message.

To delete a conversation thread, click it, then click .
