How do I use the moto e5 plus camera?

To open the camera, do any of the following:

  • Touch Image
  • Press the Power button twice quickly.
  • Use your voice. From any screen, say ‘Ok, Google’ and then say ‘take a photo
  • From the lock screen, swipe Image left.

To take a photo

  1. If needed, adjust settings such as flash or photo size.
  2. Frame your subject:
     
    • To zoom, pinch in or out.
    • To set focus location, touch the viewfinder then drag the focus ring.
    • To change the exposure, slide the control on the focus ring to lighten or darken the shot.

  3. To take the photo, do one of the following:
     
    • Touch Image
    • Touch & hold Image to take a rapid series of photos.
    • Touch Image for a timer.

      Tip: To touch anywhere on the screen instead of using Image, touch Image >  Settings and turn on Tap anywhere to capture.
  4. To review your photos and videos, touch thumbnail at bottom right. Then:
     
    • To view all thumbnails, touch the screen, then touch Image to open the Photos app.
    • To view photos later, open the Photos app or other photo app you installed.

To take a selfie

  1. On the viewfinder, touch Image to switch to the front camera.
  2. If needed:
     
    • Adjust the beauty filter.
    • Adjust mirroring by touching Image > Image > Selfie photo mirror.
    • If you've got a large group, take a wide, panoramic selfie by touching Image > Group selfie
  3. To take the photo, do one of the following:
    • Touch Image
    • Touch Image for a timer.

To take a panoramic photo

  1. On the viewfinder, touch Image > Panorama
  2. Frame one side of the scene.
  3. Touch Image, then slowly pan horizontally or vertically across the scene. Keep your motion smooth and use a steady speed.
  4. When you reach the end of your scene, touch Image

View panoramas

In the Photos app, you'll see Image on thumbnails of images when you can use immersive view.

  1. Touch the thumbnail to open the Image photo.
  2. Do any of the following:
    • To move the photo around with your finger, touch Image
    • To experience the scene as if it were surrounding you, touch Image and move your phone around you.

To share your photospheres with others, download the Google Photo Sphere or the Facebook 360 apps.



Adjust ISO and exposure

To refine settings before taking a photo:

  1. On the viewfinder, touch Image > Manual
  2. Do one of the following:
     
    • To adjust an individual setting, touch its icon.
    • To adjust all settings, touch Image and drag an icon to adjust its setting.
    • Manual focus
    • White balance
    • Shutter speed
    • ISO, the camera's sensitivity to light.
    • Exposure
  3. Do any of the following:
     
    • To return to default settings, touch Image
    • To close settings, touch Image
    • To exit Manual mode, touch Image > Auto

Tips

  • To enable all features and get optimised performance, visit the Play Store to ensure you are running the latest version of Motorola Camera.
  • Third-party cases can interfere with the camera. Try removing the case if you have image-quality issues with photos.
  • Please make sure there is not a protective covering over the camera lens.
  • Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Take a dry cloth and gently clean the camera lens.
  • Make sure your finger is not covering or shading the camera lens while taking the photo or video.
