Best Shot

When you take a picture, the camera analyzes moments before and after you press the shutter, to determine if there is a better shot available--for example, a sharper image or a more flattering pose.

We only suggest a best shot when we believe it will be a noticeable improvement over the original. Certain lighting conditions (e.g. very low light or high contrast scenes) and modes (flash / burst) may result in fewer best shot suggestions.

Troubleshooting tips

Problems taking pictures

  • Third-party cases can interfere with the camera. Try removing the case if you have image-quality issues with photos.
  • Please make sure there is not a protective covering over the camera lens.
  • Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Take a dry cloth and gently clean the camera lens.
  • Make sure your finger is not covering or shading the camera lens while taking the photo or video.

Why does the video resolution change back to HD 1080p after each camera session?

Ultra HD 4K video is a new feature which provides higher resolution video capture.  However because the 4K video sizes are very large, the camera reverts back to HD 1080p video after every session to conserve user memory space.  Also, Highlight Reels cannot be processed with 4K video and will not be included; whereas HD 1080p video can be included and provides the best HLR experience.

Why do both HD and SloMo video show 1080p resolution?

HD video is 1080p at 30fps.

SloMo video is 1080p at 60fps (this allows for the slow playback mode of SloMo video).
