Insert or remove SIM card - Nexus 6

The Nexus 6 uses a nano SIM card and does not support a regular or micro SIM card.  The nano SIM card should come pre-installed in your device.

The nano SIM card is pre-installed in the device. If you need to replace the SIM card, follow the steps below.

First Steps: Turn off and unplug the phone.

1. Open the SIM card tray.

Insert the SIM tray removal tool to unlock the SIM card tray, then slide the SIM card tray out of the phone. Be gentle with the SIM card tray.

2. Remove a SIM card.

With your fingernail, carefully lift the edge of the nano SIM card up and remove it from the tray.

3. Insert a SIM card.

With the gold contacts facing down, clip the nano SIM card into the tray. Use the SIM tray removal tool to push the SIM tray back into the phone.

4. Turn the phone back on.

Important Note: The use of SIM card adapters could potentially damage your device and therefore should not be used. Device damage caused by using either SIM adapters or incorrect SIM cards may void your Motorola limited warranty. You should use only the SIM included with your Moto G or a replacement SIM approved by Motorola.

For most carriers you can simply insert an existing SIM card as long as it is the same size. Sprint has a hard requirement for using a CSIM with this product.  Any other SIM/USIM a customer may have will not work.  A user can get a new SIM card from Sprint if one is needed.

Tip: Please inform the customer they may need to request the card as "the iPhone 6" card. Also please inform the customer, Best Buy or Sprint telesales may attempt to charge the customer. Corporate stores should provide the card free of charge.
