How do I setup and use notification tones on the moto x2?
Notifications alert the arrival of new messages, calendar events, alarms and more. You can change the settings on the device.
Touch Apps > Settings > Sound & notification.
- Interruptions - Set exceptions when you want to minimize interruptions. Specify which priority alerts are allowed, such as alarms, calls, and texts. Allow calls and texts only from your contact list, or only from contacts marked as favorites. Use Downtime to schedule recurring times to limit distractions, such as work or sleep hours.
- When device is locked - Choose whether notifications can show on the lock screen and what is displayed. You can hide content like email senders and calendar event details.
- App Notifications - Set permissions for each app. For example, if you don't want alerts from games or email, you can turn them off. When device is locked overrides individual settings.
- Notification access - See which apps may access your notifications.
Tip: You can put the handset in vibrate mode by holding the Volume Down button on the right side of the handset until the handset vibrates.
The device has three volume profiles to choose from. Use the volume keys to scroll up and down to the desired profile. Set a time limit for silence or priority interruptions, after which all alerts will be allowed.
Setting the profile as None will silence all alerts.
After you have selected your specific profile, an icon will be displayed in the notification bar.
Profile | Detail | Icon |
All | Enables full notifications | (Vibrate) No icon for All Audio |
Priority | Turns off notifications but allows the exceptions set as Interruptions | |
None | Disables all notifications, including alarms; silent mode |
